KOHLER — Woodlake Market will close to the public on Sunday, August 10th as it begins a full-scale renovation that will last one year.
During a staff meeting on Tuesday, employees were informed they would be losing their job at the upscale grocery store. They were told they could reapply when the store reopens next summer. The store is expected to reopen in Summer 2026.
According to the Kohler Company, the project marks a bold reimagining of the space to turn it into a vibrant, wellness-focused marketplace that blends culinary craftsmanship, community connection, and Midwestern hospitality.
“This transformation reflects our commitment to innovation and to creating dynamic spaces that serve both our residents and the many guests who travel to Kohler,” said Stephen Beaumont, President of Kohler Hospitality. “We are building more than a market. We are creating a destination that celebrates wellness, community, and the simple joy of exceptional food.”
As part of the transition, a public sale will take place through Sunday, August 10th from 8 AM to 5 PM or while supplies last, offering guests a final opportunity to shop their favorite items before construction begins.
The redesigned space will provide a more immersive shopping experience, introducing a new layout that prioritizes fresh, curated offerings and interactive culinary experiences. The revitalized market will include gourmet stations like a fresh deli and pizza oven, an expanded selection of wellness and sustainability-focused products, and a dedicated space for Kohler Original Recipe Chocolates.
Woodlake Market opened in December 1986. When it first opened, store hours were from 6 AM to Midnight. In recent years, the store has been open from 8 AM to 5 PM daily. The bakery had as many as 50 items and the produce section featured an 11-table, 44-seat circular cafe.
