Town of Sheboygan Fire Department seeks donations for memorial
Firefighters are asking for support from the community to raise $50,000

TOWN OF SHEBOYGAN — Construction has started on an outdoor memorial at the Town of Sheboygan Fire Department.
Thanks to a generous donation from the Frank G. and Frieda K. Brotz Family Foundation, work began on the memorial earlier this month. A statue will be the centerpiece of the gathering spot along with a plaque with the names of honorary members who have passed away. The memorial will be linked to Firehouse Park via a sidewalk. Planning started about a year ago according to Fire Investigator Tim Ellis.

Firefighters are asking for support from the community. According to Captain Josh Biederwolf, they are seeking to raise an additional $50,000. The volunteer fire department is selling customized pavers to be included in the memorial. Starting at $400, individuals or businesses can have their name or message engraved.
To keep costs low, the Town of Sheboygan Department of Public Works has been assisting with the project. Greenscape Lawn & Landscape is doing additional work at a discounted rate. Three flag poles will be installed by Marshall Sign of Glenbeulah. Work is anticipated to be completed by the end of summer with a dedication ceremony planned sometime in September.
Those interested in purchasing a customized paver or making a donation, visit tsfd.us or call the fire station at (920) 467-6800.
