The GameBoard to be featured on Local 5 Live
Lynn Potyen will highlight her Downtown Sheboygan store
SHEBOYGAN — The GameBoard, the innovative game store in Downtown Sheboygan that’s changing the way you think about playing games, will be featured on the CBS affiliate in Green Bay.
Lynn Potyen, owner of The GameBoard, will highlight her store and her mission to bring fun, education, and brain-boosting gameplay to the community. Local 5 Live will broadcast live at Blue Harbor Resort on Friday, July 25th where attendees can engage with the hosts of the television show. There will be a chance for local residents to win a variety of prizes.
The centerpiece of the promotional campaign is a gift bundle contest valued at over $100, which will be available through a television and website promotion. One lucky winner will receive the gift bundle, which includes an assortment of top-rated board games. Additionally, a $25 gift card will be given away in-person during the live show, allowing attendees to experience the store’s wide selection of games firsthand.
Attendees of the live event will also receive branded thank-you gifts, including SheBoardGames post-it packs and bracelets, designed to keep the spirit of gaming alive long after the event. These items feature a unique Wisconsin outline with the SheBoardGames logo, a fun keepsake for attendees.
“We’re excited to partner with WFRV-TV again this year to demonstrate the power of games in building stronger communities,” Potyen said. “This collaboration allows us to showcase how The GameBoard is more than just a game store—it’s a hub where people connect, learn, and have fun together. “

The GameBoard was founded in 2006 by Potyen, an award-winning proprietor after her son was diagnosed with a severe speech delay, through his journey she was able to connect his therapy to the games they played at home. She is an outspoken advocate for using board games in education, therapy, and corporate team building. Potyen’s story is archived in the Library of Congress and in the 2023 book “What Board Games Mean to Me,” where she is part of an anthology featuring 28 voices from around the world.
