Sheboygan County Supervisor dies, search for successor underway
He had passed away unexpectedly on his 283-acre farm
TOWN OF HOLLAND — Sheboygan County Supervisor and long-time Holland Town Supervisor Stanley Lammers died last week.
The 60-year-old farmer died on Wednesday, July 16th while working on his 283-acre farm. He represented District 25 on the Sheboygan County Board of Supervisors since April 2024. Lammers had attended his last County Board meeting just the night before. He also served on the Holland Town Board since 1997.
His funeral was held at First Reformed Church in Oostburg on Wednesday.
Search for successor
County Board Chairman Keith Abler is seeking applications to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the two-year term expiring in April 2026. The candidate must be a qualified elector and resident of the supervisory district which includes the Town of Holland and the Village of Cedar Grove. County Board Supervisors receive a base annual salary of $2,100. In addition, mileage reimbursement and a per diem are paid for board and committee meetings.
The County Board holds its regular monthly meeting on the third Tuesday of each month beginning at 6 PM at the Sheboygan County Courthouse. In addition, each Board member serves on one or more committees. Abler will make the appointment for Lammers’ successor, which is subject to the approval of the County Board.
Applications must be received by 4:30 PM on Friday, August 15th.
