Sheboygan County Sheriff rolling out new patrol vehicles
The cost for each Ford Police Interceptor Utility is $54,073

SHEBOYGAN — If you see a silver Sheboygan County Sheriff squad car and you think you're seeking things, you are: new squad cars.
The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office has purchased seven 2025 Police Interceptor Utility vehicles at a cost of $54,073 each. Instead of all black vehicles, they are a silver or gray color. “The color scheme and designs were left to popular vote with the whole agency,” said Sheriff Matt Spence. “The result is what a majority of the respondents indicated that they had preference to.”
The graphics were installed by Vinyl Graphics in Oostburg. The graphic package has essentially remained unchanged. Instead of the graphics being in color, they are all black, making the graphics look subdued. Two new additions feature the American Flag on the rear side windows and a thin blue line flag on the rear of the vehicles.
In 1999, the Sheriff's Office switched from white to forest green Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptors. Back then, the color choice was the result of a vote by deputies. Since at least 2006, all patrol cars had been black in color until this year.
The vehicles are maintained by two mechanics stationed in the garage of the Sheboygan County Law Enforcement Center in Downtown Sheboygan. For vehicles needing large scale repairs, that work is contracted out to local dealerships.
