Sheboygan Film Festival to hold meeting
Local business owners can learn more about getting involved in the inaugural festival

SHEBOYGAN — Organizers of the upcoming Sheboygan Film Festival will hold an informational meeting for area businesses that want to get involved.
The meeting will be held on Friday, July 18th at 12:30 PM at the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce, located at 621 North 8th Street in Downtown Sheboygan. This will be the second meeting organizers will hold. It was scheduled after the success of the first meeting.
The Sheboygan Film Festival is a new event in October dedicated to sharing the joys of film and furthering Sheboygan’s position as a creative hub in the Midwest. Organizers are excited to offer a number of ways to highlight local businesses at the festival through venue partnerships, guest services, and sponsorship opportunities. “We have been pleased with the support area businesses have offered the event,” said Beah Travis, Executive Director of Belladonna Film Project, the non-profit organization behind the event. “This tells us that they know the film festival will be bringing people to Sheboygan and they want the opportunity to interact with them and win new business when they do.”
Several downtown venues have already signed on to be part of the event, including the Stefanie H. Weill Center for the Performing Arts, John Michael Kohler Arts Center, and Paradigm Coffee Shop. The festival has already benefited from a grant from the Kohler Foundation and a generous sponsorship from Bemis Manufacturing. A wide range of sponsorship opportunities are available to businesses, ranging from affordable “Real Good Neighbor” sponsorships that give businesses a window decal and program listing, all the way up to the Presenting Sponsor title.
Attendees of the upcoming information session will learn how the festival has been structured, what will happen during the event, and how they can get involved. Some refreshments will also be provided.
With its inaugural event scheduled to take place during the first weekend in October, the Sheboygan Film Festival will focus on independent film in the Midwest. The festival is expected to offer daily filmmaker conversations, panel discussions, and other events that showcase filmmakers, their projects, and the community.
