City of Sheboygan to hold free disposal events
The large item collection events are intended to assist residents in disposing of large waste items as well as promote cleaner and safer neighborhoods.

SHEBOYGAN — The City of Sheboygan will hold six large item disposal events this year to assist residents in keeping the city safe and clean.
The first event is scheduled for Saturday, May 16th from 8 AM to 1 PM at the Municipal Service Building, located at 2026 New Jersey Avenue. Entrance to the event will be from the intersection of South 22nd Street and Virginia Avenue, which is north of New Jersey Avenue. Signs will be posted to direct residents to the site.
The event is restricted to those who live in the City of Sheboygan. Additional free events are scheduled for June, July, August, September and October. “The large item collection events are intended to assist residents in disposing of large waste items as well as promote cleaner and safer neighborhoods,” said Joel Kolste, Deputy Director of Field Operations. “Before disposing of your large items, consider donating items in good condition to friends or local charities.”
Workers from the Department of Public Works have the authority to reject commercial loads, loads originating outside the City of Sheboygan, and any item on the list of items not accepted.
Items that will be accepted
- Bagged or boxed trash 
- Household furniture 
- Mattresses and box springs 
- Toys and swings 
- Scrap metal 
- Miscellaneous junk 
Items that will not accepted:
- Hazardous waste 
- Tires 
- Construction materials (roofing, drywall, tiles and paint) 
- Freon appliances (refrigerators, air conditioners, dehumidifiers and freezers) 
- Electronic waste (microwaves, televisions, stereos, computers and printers)
