Senator LeMahieu holds listening session in Plymouth with Representative Brill
State legislators held four listening sessions in the area

PLYMOUTH — Two state legislators from Sheboygan County held a listening session Monday in Plymouth.
State Senator Devin LeMahieu was joined by State Representative Lindee Brill at the listening session, which drew a sizeable crowd. It was one of four events held Monday. The first was held in Mount Calvary where just six constituents showed up according to LeMahieu. 42 constituents filled the Assembly Room inside the Plymouth City Hall with several attendees asking the Republican state legislators where they stood on the issues such as illegal immigration, DEI, marijuana, and education.

The listening session began with a woman asking Senator LeMahieu if he believed in “due process for all” — a reference to illegal aliens being deported. LeMahieu responded he does believe in due process and believed it was good that Milwaukee Judge Hannah Dugan was arrested last week for allegedly interfering with ICE agents. LeMahieu added, “no one is above the law.”
Democrat activist and Sheboygan County Supervisor Christian Ellis confronted Representative Brill over her religious beliefs. He raised his voice and said, “I have values! I have a lot of values! And they do not reflect yours at all!” Ellis said he believed Brill was taking his country away from him. Another constituent had concerns with ROFR, known as Right of First Refusal.1 Brill stated she does not support the legislation, which would grant a specific party the first opportunity to purchase or lease a property or asset before it's offered to anyone else.
When asked about legalizing medical marijuana, Brill stated she was opposed to legislation legalizing at any level due to her work with individuals suffering from substance abuse. LeMahieu responded he has concerns with legalizing recreational marijuana and added there is no regulation of synthetic THC that is being sold throughout the state. He is keeping an open mind on legalizing medical marijuana.
Later in the day, Senator LeMahieu was joined by Representative Paul Tittl of Manitowoc for listening sessions at UW-Sheboygan and the Two Rivers City Hall.
Senator LeMahieu, a Republican from Oostburg, represents the 9th Senate District which includes portions of Sheboygan, Manitowoc, and Calumet counties. He serves as the Majority Leader in the State Senate. Representative Brill, a Republican from Oostburg, serves the 27th Assembly District while Representative Tittl serves the 25th Assembly District.
