Schools placed on lockdown in Cleveland
The report was determined to be unsubstantiated according to officials
CLEVELAND — Deputies from the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a possible armed person Thursday near Cleveland Elementary School.
The call came in at 2:44 PM on Thursday, May 8th and officers immediately responded. Out of an abundance of caution, the Cleveland Elementary School and Lakeshore College were placed on a temporary lockdown according to officials. After a thorough investigation and search of the area, no threat was found and the report was determined to be unsubstantiated.
The school is part of the Sheboygan Area School District.
The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, Kiel Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, and Manitowoc Fire Department responded to the scene.
