Student-built home in Stonebrook Crossing unveiled
The home is the 27th student-built home in Sheboygan since 1998

SHEBOYGAN — The craftsmanship of local high school students were on display Monday afternoon during an open house in the Stonebrook Crossing Subdivision.
Katelyn Nettekoven, a senior at South High School, designed the house that was built by fellow classmates. High school students enrolled in the House Construction Project have worked hard all year—building the home from the ground up, including everything from the foundation to the finishing details. This is the fourth student-built home in Stonebrook Crossing, the single-family home community by Werner Homes.

The home, located at 2825 Stonebrook Drive, features 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a two-car garage. The home will be listed for sale, with proceeds supporting the next school year’s home build. The nearby 2023 project home sold for $429,900.
The Sheboygan Area School District started the House Construction Project in 1998.

Each project starts out in the drafting rooms of North and South high schools where students are competing to have their drawings picked as the winner. Each year, a committee reviews the drawings and selects the top three submissions. The winners of this competition receive a cash award and luncheon recognition sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Greater Sheboygan. The committee that decides the winner is made up of contractors, architects, community members, and various other business members related to the construction trades.
