Sheboygan ReStore to host Repurposed for a Reason Art Exhibition
Artwork made by The Sheboygan Collective youth artists will be on display

SHEBOYGAN — Fanciful flowerpots, hand-painted chairs, and paintings made on hollow-core doors are just a sampling of the artworks that will be on display at Habitat for Humanity Lakeside’s Repurposed for a Reason Art Exhibition.
The special one-hour long exhibition, featuring works made by youth artists at The Sheboygan Collective, will take place from 5 PM to 6 PM on Wednesday, August 6th, at Habitat for Humanity Lakeside’s ReStore. Admission is free. The artwork will be available for purchase during the event.
In celebration of the youth artists’ creativity, the event will feature live music and refreshments. In addition, guests can enjoy a 50% discount on ReStore merchandise but paint, candy bars and exhibition pieces are excluded during the exhibition.
The art on display was repurposed from items purchased at the ReStore, demonstrating the reusable nature of all things found in Habitat Lakeside’s retail outlet. “Working with repurposed materials creates a powerful intersection of sustainability and accessible art for all,” said Whitney Morales, founder of The Sheboygan Collective.
This show also launches the Repurposed for a Reason kiosk, a display within the ReStore that will feature an ever-changing array of items fashioned from ReStore donations. Sales of all items support Habitat for Humanity Lakeside’s programs, including home building, home repair, the new Aging in Place program, plus other initiatives that help strengthen Sheboygan County as a community.
The Sheboygan Collective, a creative space and art school in Downtown Sheboygan, opened in 2024. The school was founded by Morales, a photographer and former art teacher. The space offers classes, collaborative opportunities, and creative activities for people of all ages.
