Virtual reality gaming center proposed in Sheboygan
VR gaming stations, racing simulators and private party rentals to be offered

SHEBOYGAN — A local man is looking to open PowerPlay Arena in the Northgate Shopping Center on Sheboygan’s north side.
The owner of Inflatable Parties, Olufemi Tomori, is proposing to operate the family entertainment center in a vacant storefront north of Piggly Wiggly. The space was last occupied by Aurora Pharmacy, which closed in March 2012. Tomori said the vision is to create a safe, engaging, and modern entertainment hub for the Sheboygan community, featuring virtual reality gaming stations, racing simulators, and interactive experiences.
Up to six part-time jobs could be created according to Tomori. The City Plan Commission will hold a meeting on Tuesday afternoon to approve a Conditional Use Permit to allow the business to operate. No word when the gaming center would open. A similar business located on Indiana Avenue, GameOn, closed in October 2022. In July, the City of Sheboygan forced Bounce Trampoline Park to close over safety concerns.
“We believe PowerPlay Arena will be a valuable addition to Sheboygan, supporting the city’s goals of growth, recreation, and community engagement,” said Tomori. “PowerPlay Arena will serve as a family-friendly recreational space that encourages healthy social interaction, active play, and technology-driven experiences.”
