Oostburg to host AugustFest, fireworks planned
The five-hour festival is family-friendly with food, entertainment and games

OOSTBURG — The biennial AugustFest is set to take place this Friday, August 8th.
This free, family-friendly event has something for the whole family to enjoy. Live music, food stands, food trucks, craft beer, wine and fireworks. There will be plenty of activities for children. Organizers are reminding festival goers that this is a cash-only event. A no-fee ATM is located within Kwik Trip on the village’s far west side.
Festivities begin at 4 PM at Veterans Park on Park Street in Oostburg and end with a fireworks show at 9:30 PM presented by Masters Gallery Foods. The fireworks launch site is located at Oostburg High School.
For just $5, a wristband gives a child unlimited access to games, Bounce Houses, face Painting by Petals The Clown and treats. Rugpool, a classic rock band, performs at 4 PM while Copper Box will take to the stage at 6:30 PM. Brats, hamburgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, hot dogs and walking tacos will be available for purchase. Culvers will be serving custard and three food trucks are also expected.

A free bus shuttle service provided by Otte Bus Company will operate from the Oostburg High School parking lot on North 6th Street. The bus will take festival goers to a designated Bus Stop at Veterans Park. Service will run every 20 minutes.
In 2017, Heritage Day was rebranded to AugustFest. The community festival was first held in August 1976 on Center Avenue as part of a nationwide celebration of America’s 200th Anniversary. It has been held every other August since 1977 and later relocated to Veterans Park.
