New operator announced for Sheboygan Community Cafe
Sheboygan County Food Bank operated the cafe since 2022

SHEBOYGAN — The Sheboygan County Warming Center has taken over operations of the Community Cafe in Downtown Sheboygan.
On Wednesday, the Sheboygan County Food Bank confirmed they no longer operate the Herb Kohler and Natalie Black Community Cafe. Located within St. Luke United Methodist Church, the cafe opened in May 2022. Last year, an average of over 400 meals were served each week. To ensure a smooth transition, the Food Bank will be providing six months of funding to the Warming Center.

In April, Liz Kroll was named Executive Director of the non-profit Sheboygan County Warming Center. “This mission means a great deal to me, and I’m excited to step into this position with heart, commitment, and deep respect for the work that’s already being done,” said Kroll. “I look forward to walking alongside our team and community as we continue to create a space of warmth, dignity, and care for those who need it most.” She worked for 15 years at the Sheboygan County Food Bank in various roles.
Herbert V. Kohler Jr. passed away in September 2022 at the age of 83 while his wife of 34 years, Natalie Black, died at the age of 74 in September 2024.
