Lakeview Pub sold to Howards Grove man
After 43 years, owner Judy Meyer retired and sold the bar

SHEBOYGAN — Meyer’s Lakeview Pub has been sold and the new owner plans to reopen the corner bar in the coming weeks.
The longtime owner of Meyer’s Lakeview Pub, 74-year-old Judy Meyer, was forced into retirement for health reasons. In July 1981, her husband Gary M. Meyer purchased the bar from Mike Sacher after working at Ellinger's Agatized Wood Company for 10 years and serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Ten months after opening the bar, he died of an aneurysm. She would continue to own and operate the bar for the next 43 years until closing in late March.

In April, Meyer sold Lakeview Pub to Jeff Rittenhouse of Howards Grove. He also owns House Divided Sports Bar, located just three blocks west on Wilson Avenue. Rittenhouse owns several rental properties throughout Sheboygan County. He is remodeling the apartments above the bar and hopes to reopen in July.

Meyer reflected on her time as a neighborhood bar owner during an interview with WKTS News. She said everybody knew everyone. “It was just a little corner bar, like Cheers.” said Meyer. “Everybody was friendly all the time.” She was a member of the Sheboygan County Tavern League since 1983 and most recently served as the group’s Vice President.
