Sheboygan County Meals on Wheels celebrates several improvements
Matching Gift Challenge of $105,000 set by Christopher Farm & Gardens

SHEBOYGAN — In just a few short months, the community stepped up to help a local Sheboygan non-profit expand.
Fresh Meals on Wheels, located near South Taylor Drive and New Jersey Avenue, held a ribbon cutting Thursday afternoon to celebrate several recent improvements including a new freezer. Thanks to a generous Matching Gift Challenge of $105,000 set by Christopher Farm & Gardens, the organization has their doubled freezer and cooler space. The new freezer replaces an old a storage closest.

“This new freezer significantly increases our cold storage capacity, allowing us to prepare and store more meals for a growing number of meal recipients,” said Allison Laine, CEO of Meals on Wheels of Sheboygan County. “It’s a big investment, literally and figuratively.”
The forethought that went into building the Christopher Family Kitchen was to leave room for expansion. The new freezer is part of that expansion. Several improvements have been made including new flooring and new cabinets.
The organization has seen a 34% increase in the number of meals prepared and distributed annually since 2021, a demand that has remained consistent since 2022.
