McDonald’s franchisee purchases shuttered Sheboygan Perkins
Tommy’s Express Car Wash was approved for the site

SHEBOYGAN — The shuttered Perkins Restaurant on Sheboygan’s southwest side has a new owner.
In February 2022, the former Perkins Restaurant & Bakery near South Taylor Drive and Washington Avenue was sold to Kilian Management Services, a McDonald’s franchisee that owns over 45 restaurants in Wisconsin. The property was previously owned by Michael and Mary Ann Fiore of Des Plaines, Illinois.
Earlier this year, Brookfield-based contractor Peter Schwabe, Inc. received approval to construct a Tommy’s Express Car Wash at 3627 Washington Avenue Frontage Road. The proposed car wash building will include a 130-foot-long tunnel design with a total building gross square footage around 5,243-square-feet. No word when construction would begin or when the car wash would open.
The car wash would be built on 1.64 acres that was formerly occupied by Perkins. The building would be demolished to build the car wash. The neighboring Citgo gas station remains closed and boarded up after Minit Mart exited the Wisconsin and Minnesota markets, resulting in the closure of the all stores.
Kilian also received approval to build a Tommy’s Express Car Wash in West Bend.
Tommy’s would be the third car wash located on Washington Avenue in Sheboygan. In December 2020, Zips Car Wash acquired Magic Car Wash locations on Washington Avenue in Sheboygan, Calumet Avenue in Manitowoc and Green Bay Avenue in Saukville. Neither Steven Benish, owner of Magic Car Wash, nor Zips disclosed the sale price. He still operates the original Magic Car Wash on Erie Avenue.
