Lobster Boil is a Sheboygan summer tradition
The annual event is a major fundraiser for the Early Bird Rotary Club

SHEBOYGAN — The Lobster Boil, an annual summer tradition in Sheboygan, was held Friday evening at Fountain Park.
Since 1992, the Sheboygan Early Bird Rotary Club has organized the event which is a major fundraiser for the non-profit. This year, proceeds will fund scholarships for Sheboygan County high school seniors looking to attend a technical college. This year marks the 24th year the event was held in Downtown Sheboygan.

Five years ago in 2020, the event was cancelled due to COVID-19. The Lobster Boil was first held in 1992 at Sheboygan's Lakefest at Deland Park with dinners available through advanced ticket sales only. In 1994, the Early Birds decided to join with other Rotary clubs and the Lobster Boil became part of the Coho Derby for five years. In 1999, it joined forces with the Harbor Centre Business Improvement District and the event was held on North 8th Street.
Since 2000, the Lobster Boil has been held at Fountain Park.

This year, a $60 ticket included a fresh 1.25 pound lobster flown in from the State of Maine, cooked fresh in the park. The meal included melted butter, corn on the cob, red potatoes, coleslaw and bread. Hamburgers and brats were also available. Attendees were treated to live music by Tonic Roots. The band from Sheboygan consists of Ann Berchem, Jeff Kolar, Adam DeSombre and Paul Massey.
In a few months, volunteers will begin preparations for the 33rd Annual Lobster Boil, which will be held on Friday, July 17th, 2026. The Early Bird Rotary Club is always looking for members and volunteers. They hold their meetings every Thursday morning at 7 AM at Shuffs restaurant, located at 4136 Highway 42.
