Kohler Corporate Museum highlights history and innovation
The spectacular attraction spotlights products and highlights the history of Kohler

KOHLER — While the Kohler Company is always changing to keep up with the latest trends, the company’s corporate museum highlights history and innovation.
The Kohler Design Center is a sprawling 36,000-square-foot resource for homeowners, it was especially intended for designers, architects and contractors. But located in the lower level of the facility on Highland Drive is the Kohler Corporate Museum. It showcases the company’s rich history, products over the years, and the community.

The museum was opened to the public in 1985 but was most recently renovated about two years ago. Visitors will notice several new additions to the museum space including upgraded lighting. Multiple video presentations play on a continuous loop, including one about the late Herbert V. Kohler Jr. A section focuses on their charitable and stewardship activities. And more emphasis is given on the Village of Kohler. There is information at every turn, and abundant artifacts on display.
The Kohler Design Center is a must visit destination while visiting Sheboygan County. Even if you’re not a visitor, it is still worth a visit to learn about a company in your own backyard that is committed to excellence. The Kohler Design Center is open daily to the public and admission is free.

The building was originally built as a recreation hall for village residents. Three years of planning and eight long months of work took place prior to the opening in September 1985. Governors Anthony Earl and Patrick Lucey toured the space along with 300 guests on opening day.
