Maritime Museum’s SubFest occurs in conjunction with Fourth on the Shore
MANITOWOC — Fourth on the Shore, a full day of activities to celebrate Independence Day in Manitowoc, returns on Friday, July 4th.
This year features a parade, live music, family-friendly activities, and food and drinks along the river and lakefront. The festivities begin with the annual Fourth on the Shore Parade at 10 AM. The route heads north on South 8th Street from Washington Street, turns east on Maritime Drive, and finishes at the Manitowoc Yacht Club. Manitowoc’s first-ever Independence Day Parade was held in 2019. Mayor Justin Nickels is credited for improving the holiday festivities.
The day continues with live music at The Wharf, craft vendors and food trucks in the YMCA parking lot, self-guided tours inside the Manitowoc Breakwater Lighthouse, music and kids’ activities at the Manitowoc Yacht Club, which is open to the public. The Wisconsin Maritime Museum’s SubFest occurs in conjunction with Fourth on the Shore. On July 4th, museum admission is just $10, while veterans, retired military, and active duty military are free all weekend long.
Fourth on the Shore concludes with the Festival Foods Fireworks Show at 9:30 PM over Lake Michigan according to Courtney Hansen, the city’s Director of Tourism.
