Work underway on multi-million dollar Sheboygan Falls road construction project
The City of Sheboygan Falls received $3.5 million in federal funding for the project

SHEBOYGAN FALLS — A main thoroughfare in Sheboygan Falls is getting reconstructed, with work expected to take several months.
The multi-million dollar project includes asphalt paving approximately one mile of Fond du Lac Avenue, replacing lead water service and sanitary sewer pipes between Alfred Miley Avenue to the east and Highway 32 to the west. The City of Sheboygan Falls received $3.5 million in federal funding for the project. The stretch of road was the original State Highway 23 until 1978 when the present-day highway opened.
Two roundabouts were proposed for Fond du Lac Avenue; one at Poplar Street and the second at Alfred Miley Avenue. Both have since been removed from the project. Instead, the intersection at Fond du Lac Avenue and Poplar Street will become a permanent three-way stop, with the turn lane improved.
Officials hope the construction will be completed by September 1st, 2025.
