Fire kills 2 cats, displaces resident at Sommer's Trailer Home Park
Another cat was reunited with the homeowner
SHEBOYGAN — Firefighters responded to a trailer home fire Monday morning at Sommer’s Woodhaven Community on the city’s south side.
Shortly after 9 AM, the Sheboygan Fire Department responded to a fire on Elmwood Drive in the trailer park. It took firefighters four minutes to arrive on scene and found smoke coming from the exterior of the home. After a search, firefighters extinguished the fire in the kitchen.
According to Battalion Chief Pat Nicolaus, two cats were killed and another was reunited with the homeowner. There were no injuries to the homeowner or firefighters. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and the estimated damage is approximately $15,000.
