National accounting firm to leave city, building office in Town of Sheboygan
Once the new building is complete, CLA will leave the City of Sheboygan

TOWN OF SHEBOYGAN — A groundbreaking ceremony was held Tuesday for the new office of CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA).
CLA, a national accounting firm, will leave the City of Sheboygan for a brand new 12,000-square-foot building in the Town of Sheboygan. Hobart-based Bayland Buildings is the general contractor for the project. The new office will be located at 3727 Joliet Trail, just north of The Apartments At North Town. “We are happy to have them in our town,” said Town Chairman Dan Hein.

“It takes so many different people to put a project like this together,” said Chris Merklein of North Town Partners. He thanked the Town of Sheboygan and Chairman Hein for their assistance. “We’re a national firm but we are locally invested in this area and we are really excited to be here,” said Bryan Grunewald of CLA.
The firm has provided services to the city, town and the Sheboygan Area School District. Currently, their office is located at 712 Riverfront Drive in Sheboygan’s Harbor Centre District. It is the one of two remaining businesses occupying the Schafer Building, which has been divided into three sections with each having a different owner. The building underwent an extensive $1.5 million renovation and opened in 1988. In 1990, it was home to a restaurant and six businesses and stores.
Construction of the new CLA office is just the latest development in North Town. “This is just part of the puzzle we’re putting together that will complete this development,” added Hein. “This whole area in five years from now will look totally different than it does now.” On the other side of North Town, construction is underway on a multi-million dollar senior living community. That project includes a 182-unit independent and assisted living and memory care building.
