City of Sheboygan's $160,000 redesigned website to launch in 2026
The city's website has operated on WordPress since 2010 and has seen little changes

SHEBOYGAN — The Common Council voted earlier this year to spend nearly $160,000 in taxpayer funds to redesign the City of Sheboygan website.
City officials have reviewed several software programs on the market and determined that CivicPlus meets specifications. With the new website, the city will also be able to receive and track requests for records, and to provide a publicly accessible database for those documents. The firm that will be redesigning the city website is located in Manhattan, Kansas which is located 58 miles west of Topeka.

Last month, WKTS News was given early access to the new website. Officials say the redesigned website will go live early next year. Several city websites and domain names will be consolidated into the new website at sheboyganwi.gov. The city is still advertising bizsheboygan.com on an LED message board along Interstate 43, which the city no longer owns. It is not clear why the city’s Department of Planning & Development has not received the defunct website from the message board.
The city expects to pay over $77,000 annually to maintain the new website.
