This will be the fifth building to be demolished in the Harbor Centre in the last year. The first was the Wells Fargo Bank at North 7th Street and Wisconsin Avenue, which the city purchased. Two buildings were demolished last week as part of the Weill Center’s expansion. The fourth was the former Pier 17 restaurant, which was demolished this week.

Sealed bids should be submitted to Bernard Rammer, the city’s Purchasing Agent, before 1 PM on Thursday August 21st. Bids shall be submitted on the bid forms provided by Rammer. Detailed specifications can be obtained by emailing bernard.rammer@sheboyganwi.gov or by calling (920) 459-3469. The City of Sheboygan reserves the right to reject any or all bids, cancel the solicitation in whole or in part, waive informalities in the bidding process, or to accept any bid considered most advantageous to the city.

The City of Sheboygan purchased the restaurant and motel from Jetmir Ameti for $3.2 million last year. While demolition is planned, no date has been set. Rolly Lokre of Plover-based Lokre Companies is proposing a 104-room Marriot Spring Garden Inn hotel consisting of a rooftop restaurant and a 5,000-square-foot distillery.
According to the Tax Incremental District (TID) Development Agreement between Lokre and the city, he will purchase the property from the city for just $1. Officials anticipate that the project will be worth $14 million once completed. Construction will begin no later than March 2026. In preparation for the building’s demise, workers from Wisconsin Public Service disconnected natural gas service earlier this month.
