Behavioral Health Clinic opens in Sheboygan
Originally constructed as a gas station, the building was converted into a office

SHEBOYGAN — Behavioral Health Clinic has opened in Downtown Sheboygan, giving new life to a office building near Mead Public Library.
Behavioral Health Clinic (BHC) opened earlier this month at 703 North 9th Street as well as an office in Grafton. The provider will employ as many as 15 team members between the two locations, including therapists, support and clinical staff. As the client base grows, they plan to expand further to meet the needs of each community.

BHC recently welcomed community members, local healthcare providers, and visitors to its new Sheboygan location with an engaging open house held on July 17th. It offered an opportunity for attendees to tour the new facilities, meet the BHC team, and learn more about the mental health services now available locally.
“We chose Sheboygan because it’s a thriving, close-knit community where we saw a real need for expanded mental health services,” said Kaycee Aragon, Communications Specialist for BHC. “We knew we could make a meaningful difference by bringing our full range of behavioral health services, including therapy, psychiatric care, and assessment testing to a community that deserves more options and support.”
With more than 100 providers and staff statewide, Behavioral Health Clinic offers therapy, psychological assessments, psychiatric care, and medication management services. The new Grafton and Sheboygan locations represent an important step in bringing these vital services closer to the communities they serve. No referral is needed. In-person and online services are offered.
The 1,820-square-foot building was originally built in 1940 as a Shell gas station. After closing in 1968, the building was remodeled and Manpower moved their offices from North 8th Street in March 1969. Ten years later, they moved out and the building had sat largely vacant for about 35 years.
Anchor of Hope Health Center purchased the building in December 2014 and opened to the public in September 2015. After relocating to a larger building on the Taylor Drive Beltline, Anchor of Hope sold the Downtown Sheboygan office in August 2021 for $154,700 to Dr. Erin Perez. She had been the owner of Access Community Therapies until being hired on by Children’s Wisconsin in June. BHC leases the building from Perez but she is not involved with Behavioral Health Clinic.
